Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.07% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 4.61% or 6.50 points to trade at 147.50 at the close. Intertek Group PLC (LON:ITRK) added 4.56% or 176.00 points to end at 4,036.00 and Abrdn PLC (LON:ABDN) was up 3.61% or 7.40 points to 212.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Imperial Brands PLC (LON:IMB), which lost 3.89% or 85.00 points to trade at 2,100.00 in late trade. British Land Company PLC (LON:BLND) declined 2.17% or 9.00 points to end at 406.00 and Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) shed 2.10% or 1.99 points to 92.67.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1064 to 712 and 441 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.55% or 9.65 to $1,755.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.22% or 0.17 to hit $78.11 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $85.39 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.53% to 1.21, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 105.73.
