Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.45%, while the ADX General index gained 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 2.92% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.820 at the close. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) added 2.76% or 0.040 points to end at 1.490 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was up 2.60% or 0.012 points to 0.473 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which lost 1.96% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.000 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 1.70% or 0.008 points to end at 0.463 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) shed 1.65% or 0.020 points to 1.190.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which rose 2.28% to 8.53, Methaq (AD:METH) which was up 1.23% to settle at 0.820 and Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which gained 0.86% to close at 3.510.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 7.69% to 0.360 in late trade, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which lost 2.88% to settle at 1.350 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 1.67% to 0.590 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 fell and 8 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.69% or 0.35 to $50.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.03% or 0.53 to hit $51.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.45 to trade at $1267.05 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.42% to 3.9965.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 98.62.
