Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 1.04%, while the ADX General index climbed 1.22%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 11.11% or 0.061 points to trade at 0.610 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 3.22% or 0.021 points to end at 0.673 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was up 2.99% or 0.018 points to 0.620 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which lost 4.36% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.527 in late trade. Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) declined 3.85% or 3.00 points to end at 75.00 and Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) shed 3.13% or 0.200 points to 6.200.

The top performers on the ADX General were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which rose 5.58% to 5.49, Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which was up 2.87% to settle at 8.95 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 2.86% to close at 0.360.

The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 9.13% to 6.77 in late trade, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which lost 2.86% to settle at 1.36 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 2.41% to 0.810 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 5 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 rose and 5 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.16% or 0.06 to $37.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.14 to hit $39.98 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.25% or 15.30 to trade at $1239.10 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.07% to 4.1839.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 94.38.
