Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.93%, while the ADX General index declined 1.00%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which rose 4.65% or 2.80 points to trade at 63.00 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 0.93% or 0.01 points to end at 1.09 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was up 0.69% or 0.010 points to 1.450 in late trade.

Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 3.64% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.060 in late trade. Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) declined 2.44% or 0.030 points to end at 1.200 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) shed 2.24% or 0.030 points to 1.310.

The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 10.46% to 1.69, Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was up 9.09% to settle at 3.000 and Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which gained 7.14% to close at 3.00.

The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 5.26% to 0.360 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 4.94% to settle at 0.770 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 3.66% to 0.7900 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 6 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.52% or 0.71 to $45.96 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.37% or 0.66 to hit $47.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.66% or 8.55 to trade at $1296.55 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.23% to 4.0696.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 97.45.
