Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Finance & Investment and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Insurance, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.58%, while the ADX General index fell 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which rose 4.63% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.130 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 3.21% or 0.060 points to end at 1.930 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 2.67% or 0.050 points to 1.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN), which lost 7.09% or 0.210 points to trade at 2.750 in late trade. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) declined 3.53% or 0.019 points to end at 0.520 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) shed 2.13% or 0.060 points to 2.760.
The top performers on the ADX General were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which rose 3.51% to 1.1800, Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which was up 2.60% to settle at 1.580 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 2.21% to close at 6.47.
The worst performers were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which was down 5.62% to 3.02 in late trade, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which lost 4.17% to settle at 2.300 and First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which was down 3.60% to 12.05 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 8 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.64% or 0.31 to $48.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.47% or 0.24 to hit $51.13 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.54% or 6.45 to trade at $1207.85 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED rose 0.02% to 3.9203.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 101.12.
