Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 4.03%, while the ADX General index climbed 3.03%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which rose 14.85% or 0.097 points to trade at 0.750 at the close. Meanwhile, ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) added 7.95% or 0.240 points to end at 3.260 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 7.76% or 0.180 points to 2.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 2.82% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.517 at the close. National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 3.180 and Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 117.00.
The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 14.63% to 0.940, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was up 7.27% to settle at 0.550 and Union Cement (AD:UCC) which gained 7.07% to close at 1.06.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 10.00% to 6.12 in late trade, Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which lost 9.85% to settle at 1.19 and Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which was down 5.63% to 1.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 26 to 1; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 20 rose and 4 declined, while 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 3.180.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 7.36% or 2.84 to $41.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 6.97% or 3.00 to hit $46.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.70 to trade at $1121.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.64% to 4.1284.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 95.81.
