Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which rose 2.89% or 0.61 points to trade at 21.69 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) added 2.13% or 0.670 points to end at 32.190 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 2.01% or 0.400 points to 20.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 2.81% or 0.920 points to trade at 31.850 in late trade. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) declined 1.63% or 1.930 points to end at 116.350 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) shed 1.51% or 3.230 points to 210.870.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 72 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.15 to $1255.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.87% or 0.44 to hit $49.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.79% or 0.41 to trade at $51.54 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.76% to 18.8582, while EUR/MXN fell 0.55% to 20.7388.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 97.87.
