Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Motors and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) added 10.88% or 2.60 points to end at 26.50 and Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC (CM:CHOT) was up 9.38% or 1.80 points to 21.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which lost 11.27% or 35.00 points to trade at 275.50 in late trade. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) shed 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 73 and 65 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $46.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $48.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.26 to trade at $1230.76 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 201.065, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 153.790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 94.96.
