Investing.com – Canada’s unemployment rate fell in September as the economy created less jobs than forecast, according to official data released on Friday.
The Statistics Canada report showed that the Canadian unemployment rate fell to 6.2% in September. Analysts had expected it to increase to 6.3%.
The Canadian economy created 10,000 jobs last month, compared to 22,000 jobs in August. Economists had expected the creation of 4,500 jobs.
Following the report, USD/CAD traded at 1.2580, compared to 1.2571 prior to the data.
