Investing.com - The rate of unemployment in the U.S. last month remained unchanged unexpectedly, official data showed on Friday.

In a report, the U.S. Department of Labor said the unemployment rate remained unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 4.9%, from 4.9% in the preceding month .

Analysts had expected the U.S. unemployment rate to fall to 4.8% last month.
