NAIROBI, Feb 7 (Reuters) - The following company announcements, scheduled economic indicators, debt and currency market moves and political events may affect African markets on Thursday.

- - - - - ECONOMIC DATA *Uganda's central bank to release its benchmark Central Bank Rate (CBR) for the next two months.

GLOBAL MARKETS Asian share markets were in a muted mood on Thursday and looked set for a sleepy session with China still on holiday and no major economic data on the diary.

MKTS/GLOB WORLD OIL PRICES Oil prices fell on Thursday after U.S. crude inventories rose and as production levels in the country held at record levels, but OPEC-led supply cuts and Washington's sanctions against Venezuela supported markets.

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS South Africa's rand fell on Wednesday, in line with broad weakness in emerging market currencies, as the dollar settled near a two-week high after U.S. President Donald Trump's State of the Union speech failed to surprise currency traders. KENYA MARKETS The Kenyan shilling KES= was stable against the dollar on Wednesday supported by inflows from Diaspora remittances amid weak dollar demand from importers, traders said.

NIGERIA POLITICS A key ally of Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said people from overseas who sought to intervene in the country's election to be held in little over a week would go back in body bags. ZIMBABWE POLITICS Zimbabwe's main opposition on Wednesday snubbed talks with President Emmerson Mnangagwa meant to try resolve a political and economic crisis, saying any dialogue with the president must be brokered by an independent outside mediator.
