SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS South Africa's rand fell on Wednesday, in line with broad weakness in emerging market currencies, as the dollar settled near a two-week high after U.S. President Donald Trump's State of the Union speech failed to surprise currency traders. KENYA MARKETS The Kenyan shilling KES= was stable against the dollar on Wednesday supported by inflows from Diaspora remittances amid weak dollar demand from importers, traders said.
NIGERIA POLITICS A key ally of Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said people from overseas who sought to intervene in the country's election to be held in little over a week would go back in body bags.
