Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Auto and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Iron Force (TW:2228), which rose 9.97% or 19.50 points to trade at 215.00 at the close. Shuttle (TW:2405) added 9.90% or 0.95 points to end at 10.55 and Gordon Auto (TW:1524) was up 9.70% or 0.72 points to 8.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lung Hwa Eltrs (TW:2424), which lost 9.97% or 3.25 points to trade at 29.35 in late trade. J Touch (TW:3584) declined 9.95% or 0.37 points to end at 3.35 and Mag Tech (TW:2358) shed 9.93% or 0.89 points to 8.07.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 426 to 326 and 101 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.65% or 0.25 to $38.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.42% or 0.17 to hit $40.16 a barrel, while the June Gold contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1235.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.01% to 32.281, while TWD/CNY rose 0.30% to 0.2011.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 94.56.
