Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 2.00% or 1.06 points to trade at 54.08 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.92% or 1.180 points to end at 62.750 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 1.02% or 0.99 points to 98.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ageas (BR:AGES), which lost 1.60% or 0.635 points to trade at 38.965 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 0.63% or 0.380 points to end at 59.740 and Elia (BR:ELI) shed 0.23% or 0.110 points to 46.840.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 56 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.35% or 4.35 to $1236.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.94% or 1.03 to hit $51.98 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.53% or 0.85 to trade at $54.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.0697, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.8563.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 100.25.
