Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 3.66% or 1.555 points to trade at 44.005 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) added 3.26% or 0.304 points to end at 9.639 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 2.03% or 0.615 points to 30.845 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 2.14% or 0.62 points to trade at 28.35 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.50% or 0.755 points to end at 49.495 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) shed 0.37% or 0.40 points to 107.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 51 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 1.54% or 20.95 to $1335.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 4.22% or 1.89 to hit $46.65 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 4.37% or 2.02 to trade at $48.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1080, while EUR/GBP fell 1.74% to 0.8366.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 96.42.
