Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 1.63% or 1.51 points to trade at 94.25 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 1.46% or 0.150 points to end at 10.450 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.83% or 0.250 points to 30.475 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.76% or 1.380 points to trade at 48.670 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.97% or 1.37 points to end at 68.11 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 1.23% or 0.39 points to 31.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 67 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.65 to $1341.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.75% or 1.15 to hit $42.95 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.39% or 1.06 to trade at $45.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1077, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.8495.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.38.
