Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 0.10% or 0.02 points to trade at 20.77 at the close. Elia (BR:ELI) fell 0.02% or 0.010 points to end at 45.010 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was down 0.17% or 0.07 points to 43.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which lost 2.12% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.05 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.11% or 1.130 points to end at 52.350 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 1.55% or 0.495 points to 31.350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 63 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.15% or 2.05 to $1327.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.59% or 1.20 to hit $45.09 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.99% or 0.96 to trade at $47.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1244, while EUR/GBP rose 1.21% to 0.8526.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 95.36.
