Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 0.33% or 0.19 points to trade at 58.50 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) fell 0.23% or 0.085 points to end at 36.540 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was down 0.39% or 0.12 points to 30.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which lost 3.11% or 3.35 points to trade at 104.40 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 3.05% or 2.39 points to end at 75.86 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 2.15% or 1.680 points to 76.280.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 32 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.28% or 3.49 to $1255.21 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.69% or 0.34 to hit $49.41 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.31 to trade at $52.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1134, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.8561.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 97.46.
