TORONTO, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index fell in early trade on Monday, weighed down by energy stocks as oil prices fell and as shares in telecom companies also lost ground.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 38.00 points, or 0.25 percent, at 15,458.05 shortly after the open.
