Jan 23 (Reuters) - Futures for Canada's main stock index rose on Wednesday, as oil prices gained on optimism after China and Japan said they would use fiscal stimulus to boost economic growth in the face of trade protectionism and faltering global demand.
March futures on the S&P/TSX index SXFc1 were up 0.33 percent at 6:55 a.m. ET.
Retail sales for November data is due at 08:30 a.m. ET
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX .GSPTSE closed down 120.40 points, or 0.78 percent, at 15,233.76, on Tuesday. Jones Industrial Average e-mini futures 1YMc1 were up 0.52 percent at 6:55 a.m. ET, while S&P 500 e-mini futures ESc1 were up 0.33 percent and Nasdaq 100 e-mini futures NQc1 were up 0.38 percent. .N
