July 25 (Reuters) - Stock futures pointed to a slightly lower opening for Canada's main stock index on Wednesday, as investors focused on the trade talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
Ahead of the meeting, EU trade commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom said the European Commission is preparing retaliatory tariffs on $20 billion of U.S. goods if Washington imposed duties on imported cars. futures on the S&P/TSX index SXFc1 were down 0.17 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX .GSPTSE fell 30.71 points, or 0.19 percent, to 16,390.13 on Tuesday. Jones Industrial Average e-mini futures 1YMc1 were down 0.06 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET, while S&P 500 e-mini futures ESc1 were down 0.12 percent and Nasdaq 100 e-mini futures NQc1 were up 0.03 percent. .N
