Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 1.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 4.26% or 1.16 points to trade at 28.38 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 3.66% or 0.61 points to end at 17.43 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was up 2.65% or 0.94 points to 36.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which lost 13.54% or 2.205 points to trade at 14.080 in late trade. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIETO) declined 8.27% or 2.34 points to end at 25.96 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) shed 7.30% or 0.690 points to 8.765.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 53 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.28% or 0.20 to $72.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $68.22 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.30 to trade at $1229.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1702, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8928.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 94.41.
