Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 2.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 0.03% or 0.01 points to trade at 30.93 at the close. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) fell 0.41% or 0.017 points to end at 4.163 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) was down 0.42% or 0.18 points to 42.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which lost 4.80% or 0.510 points to trade at 10.110 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 4.71% or 0.255 points to end at 5.160 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) shed 4.47% or 1.69 points to 36.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 21 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 3.42% or 1.96 to $55.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.59% or 1.73 to hit $46.44 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.50 to trade at $1264.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.1458, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.9044.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 95.847.
