Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which rose 2.22% or 0.31 points to trade at 14.49 at the close. Klepierre (PA:LOIM) added 1.85% or 0.75 points to end at 41.25 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 1.55% or 0.079 points to 5.189 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Technip (PA:TECF), which lost 2.25% or 1.17 points to trade at 50.75 in late trade. Renault SA (PA:RENA) declined 1.85% or 1.42 points to end at 75.49 and Airbus Group (PA:AIR) shed 1.17% or 0.61 points to 51.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Thales (PA:TCFP) which rose 3.44% to 78.84, Aperam (AS:APAM) which was up 2.58% to settle at 34.42 and Orange SA (PA:ORAN) which gained 2.22% to close at 14.49.
The worst performers were GTT (PA:GTT) which was down 11.68% to 24.84 in late trade, Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which lost 9.38% to settle at 8.676 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 4.03% to 3.433 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 332 to 314 and 116 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.42% to 18.16.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.75% or 10.00 to $1321.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.79% or 0.80 to hit $43.95 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 0.81 to trade at $45.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.0962, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8372.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 97.54.
