Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.91% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group (PA:AIR), which rose 3.97% or 2.40 points to trade at 62.85 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 2.22% or 4.70 points to end at 216.40 and Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) was up 2.07% or 0.090 points to 4.447 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 3.36% or 0.259 points to trade at 7.450 in late trade. Technip (PA:TECF) declined 2.62% or 1.80 points to end at 66.90 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) shed 1.19% or 1.25 points to 103.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which rose 4.51% to 9.329, Airbus Group (PA:AIR) which was up 3.97% to settle at 62.85 and Ingenico Group (PA:INGC) which gained 3.86% to close at 72.85.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which was down 3.36% to 7.450 in late trade, Technip (PA:TECF) which lost 2.62% to settle at 66.90 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 2.02% to 14.0800 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 325 to 245 and 100 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.84% to 15.95.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.66% or 7.75 to $1158.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $53.04 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.14 to trade at $55.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0627, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8384.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 101.06.
