Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Insurance and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.94%, while the MDAX index added 0.85%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 3.55% or 0.425 points to trade at 12.395 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) added 2.84% or 0.163 points to end at 5.898 and Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING) was up 2.84% or 4.250 points to 153.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn), which lost 0.33% or 0.050 points to trade at 15.120 in late trade. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 14.605 and Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN) gained 0.03% or 0.050 points to 153.950.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which rose 3.06% to 8.56, Suedzucker AG (DE:SZUG) which was up 2.66% to settle at 23.000 and Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which gained 2.09% to close at 48.360.
The worst performers were Kuka AG (DE:KU2G) which was down 0.69% to 100.850 in late trade, STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE:STAGn) which lost 0.34% to settle at 49.330 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) which was down 0.21% to 66.860 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which rose 2.93% to 7.910, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 2.64% to settle at 42.385 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 2.45% to close at 24.700.
The worst performers were STRATEC Biomedical AG (DE:SBSG) which was down 0.70% to 55.130 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 0.65% to settle at 30.680 and Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was down 0.42% to 188.500 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 634 to 237 and 21 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 17.92.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.00% or 0.05 to $1343.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.89% or 0.42 to hit $47.83 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.10% or 0.54 to trade at $49.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1313, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8580.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.46.
