Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Utilities and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 10.00% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.044 at the close. Meanwhile, Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 4.13% or 0.027 points to end at 0.680 and Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) was up 3.38% or 0.005 points to 0.153 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Reds (AT:CAMr), which fell 10.00% or 0.039 points to trade at 0.351 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 7.53% or 0.06 points to end at 0.68 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 7.50% or 0.012 points to 0.148.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 37 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.12% or 12.70 to $1123.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.41% or 1.11 to hit $47.25 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.06% or 1.00 to trade at $49.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.0943, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.7106.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 97.45.
