Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Banking and Capital Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.29%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which rose 9.07% or 7.95 points to trade at 96.05 at the close. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) added 7.40% or 225.50 points to end at 3264.60 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) was up 7.33% or 497.40 points to 7233.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vedanta Ltd (NS:VDAN), which lost 4.29% or 7.35 points to trade at 164.10 in late trade. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (NS:IOC) declined 3.27% or 4.80 points to end at 141.80 and Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) shed 1.18% or 14.50 points to 1213.80.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which rose 9.64% to 96.10, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was up 7.20% to settle at 3265.85 and Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:HROM) which gained 3.21% to close at 2462.60.
The worst performers were Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which was down 4.26% to 164.05 in late trade, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which lost 1.48% to settle at 1214.10 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was down 1.46% to 334.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 875 to 699 and 59 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1262 rose and 1140 declined, while 143 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.98% to 12.1325.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.24% or 3.35 to $1418.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.46% or 0.26 to hit $56.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.45 to trade at $63.84 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.09% to 68.968, while EUR/INR fell 0.23% to 76.7640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 97.665.
