Investing.com – Indonesia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Industry, Financials and Infrastructure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Jakarta, the Jakarta Stock Exchange Composite gained 0.96% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Jakarta Stock Exchange Composite were Alakasa Industrindo Tbk (JK:ALKA), which rose 25.42% or 30 points to trade at 148 at the close. Semen Baturaja Persero Tbk (JK:SMBR) added 23.91% or 165 points to end at 855 and Bank Qnb Indonesia Tbk (JK:BKSW) was up 23.78% or 78 points to 406 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mitra Komunikasi Nusantara Tbk PT (JK:MKNT), which lost 10.00% or 48 points to trade at 432 in late trade. Cakra Mineral Tbk (JK:CKRA) declined 10.00% or 8 points to end at 72 and Rimau Multi Putra Pratama (JK:CMPP) shed 9.70% or 13 points to 121.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 200 to 113 and 92 ended unchanged on the Jakarta Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.61% or 0.26 to $42.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.02% or 0.46 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1328.15 a troy ounce.
USD/IDR was down 0.26% to 13133.0, while AUD/IDR fell 0.56% to 9822.80.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 97.25.
