Quiver Quantitative - In a new disclosure filed today, Interdigital reported spending $551,219 on lobbying for a variety of tax, telecommunications, and trade issues.
Specifically, they listed off the following areas of legislation that their lobbying was intended to impact:
- Corporate tax issues and other tax matters - Wireless Communications, 5G, 6G, IoT, ORAN/Open-Ran, spectrum matters and other broadband, wireless and video standards issues. - Matters related to the ITC, other IP issues and IP matters related to China and other trade agreements or matters concerning IP and trade. - General Patent and IP Issues. IP issues related to China.
Discussions on Chinese trade policy have been ramping up in Congress lately, and many other companies have been spending on lobbying in this area as well. Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) ($MSFT) , Fedex ($FDX) , and AMD ($AMD) all reported significant spending for similar issues last month.
In the last year, Interdigital ($IDCC) has disclosed $1,751,563 of lobbying in total, across 3 different disclosures.
They have been steadily growing their lobbying spending every year, and have consistently spent over $1m/yr every year since 2015.
