Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 added 0.33% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 25 were Teva (TA:TEVA), which rose 4.75% or 950 points to trade at 20940 at the close. Perrigo (TA:PRGO) added 1.97% or 720 points to end at 37220 and Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) was up 1.18% or 200 points to 17110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Frutarom (TA:FRUT), which lost 1.65% or 320 points to trade at 19120 in late trade. Bezeq (TA:BEZQ) declined 1.61% or 12.7 points to end at 777.1 and Melisron (TA:MLSR) shed 1.61% or 260 points to 15840.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 169 to 149 and 120 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.53% or 1.65 to $45.15 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 4.02% or 1.95 to hit $46.52 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.29% or 3.85 to trade at $1339.15 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.25% to 3.8590, while EUR/ILS rose 0.13% to 4.2844.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 96.22.
