Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as in the sectors propelled shares .

The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Softbank Corp. (T:9984), which rose 3.62% or 236.5 points to trade at 6777.1 at the close. Fujikura Ltd. (T:5803) added 3.52% or 21.0 points to end at 617.0 and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (T:4506) was up 3.52% or 66.0 points to 1939.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takashimaya Co., Ltd. (T:8233), which lost 4.21% or 36.0 points to trade at 820.0 in late trade. DeNA Co Ltd (T:2432) declined 2.89% or 100.0 points to end at 3365.0 and Isuzu Motors, Ltd. (T:7202) shed 2.59% or 32.5 points to 1221.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1179 to 730 and 159 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 20.24.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.49% or 0.25 to $51.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.56% or 0.30 to hit $52.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.19% or 2.35 to trade at $1262.75 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.29% to 103.90, while EUR/JPY rose 0.14% to 115.59.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 97.08.
