Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.21% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 3.99% or 0.790 points to trade at 20.600 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 2.44% or 2.690 points to end at 112.790 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) was up 2.22% or 2.760 points to 126.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 3.62% or 0.470 points to trade at 12.520 in late trade. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 1.86% or 0.390 points to end at 20.620 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 0.97% or 0.310 points to 31.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 70 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.28% or 3.70 to $1333.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.37% or 0.63 to hit $45.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.79% or 0.37 to trade at $46.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.71% to 18.5160, while EUR/MXN rose 0.21% to 20.4029.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 97.10.
