Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 1.49% or 11.53 points to trade at 785.99 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 1.17% or 1.260 points to end at 109.150 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was up 0.43% or 0.12 points to 27.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL), which lost 2.26% or 3.55 points to trade at 153.30 in late trade. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) declined 2.07% or 0.650 points to end at 30.770 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 1.91% or 2.75 points to 141.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 162 to 74 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.41 to $1224.11 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.44% or 0.20 to hit $45.33 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.11 to trade at $47.90 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.27% to 18.2525, while EUR/MXN rose 0.34% to 20.8481.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 95.58.
