Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 1.67% or 0.25 points to trade at 15.19 at the close. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) added 1.18% or 0.36 points to end at 30.77 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was up 0.98% or 0.260 points to 26.695 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 2.69% or 0.94 points to trade at 33.88 in late trade. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 1.09% or 0.38 points to end at 34.63 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) shed 0.84% or 0.135 points to 16.030.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 52 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.05% to 11.37.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.28% or 0.15 to $54.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.18% or 0.11 to hit $60.24 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 5.88 to trade at $1277.68 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1633, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 94.47.
