Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad (AS:RAND), which rose 4.85% or 1.96 points to trade at 42.30 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 3.35% or 0.46 points to end at 14.18 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 2.67% or 0.280 points to 10.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heineken (AS:HEIN), which lost 0.48% or 0.38 points to trade at 79.13 in late trade. Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) added 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 22.16 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) gained 0.06% or 0.03 points to 45.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 124 to 37 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.79% to 17.35.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.95% or 0.45 to $47.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.24% or 0.61 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.35 to trade at $1343.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8578.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 94.49.
