Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.48% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN), which rose 1.02% or 0.77 points to trade at 76.62 at the close. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) added 0.41% or 0.06 points to end at 13.31 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was up 0.37% or 0.019 points to 5.165 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 12.01% or 1.11 points to trade at 8.10 in late trade. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 3.46% or 1.16 points to end at 32.24 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) shed 2.54% or 0.91 points to 34.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 51 and 2 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.19% to 12.81.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.23% or 1.23 to $56.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.97% or 1.21 to hit $62.57 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.97% or 12.43 to trade at $1290.63 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1789, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8928.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 93.64.
