Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Materials and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 2.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 22.31% or 5.9 points to trade at 32.5 at the close. Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) added 10.11% or 2.70 points to end at 29.40 and Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) was up 9.89% or 2.6 points to 28.9 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OL:REC), which lost 3.58% or 0.05 points to trade at 1.46 in late trade. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 1.69% or 6.0 points to end at 349.0 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) shed 1.50% or 0.10 points to 6.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 122 to 61 and 15 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.05% or 0.02 to $42.15 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.20% or 0.09 to hit $44.60 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.08% or 13.60 to trade at $1247.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.21% to 9.2851, while USD/NOK rose 0.71% to 8.2325.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.78% at 94.75.
