Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.24% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Yara International ASA (OL:YAR), which rose 3.51% or 11.3 points to trade at 331.7 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) added 3.27% or 1.1 points to end at 34.4 and Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) was up 2.88% or 0.9 points to 32.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which lost 5.24% or 0.38 points to trade at 6.87 in late trade. TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) declined 2.68% or 3.6 points to end at 130.6 and Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) shed 2.12% or 2.80 points to 129.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 80 and 17 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.72% or 0.73 to $43.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.77% or 0.78 to hit $44.81 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1254.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.32% to 9.1913, while USD/NOK fell 0.04% to 8.1151.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.28.
