Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which rose 6.60% or 5.0 points to trade at 80.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Subsea 7 SA (OSLO:SUBC) added 4.41% or 3.1 points to end at 73.4 and Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR) was up 3.36% or 1.80 points to 55.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC), which fell 4.57% or 15.0 points to trade at 313.0 at the close. Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) declined 3.46% or 0.06 points to end at 1.62 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT) was down 3.31% or 1.00 points to 29.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 107 to 70 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.29% or 1.20 to $51.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.03% or 0.58 to hit $56.27 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.74% or 8.50 to trade at $1161.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 1.56% to 9.1352, while USD/NOK rose 0.99% to 8.2476.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 96.36.
