Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Energy and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Yara International ASA (OSLO:YAR), which rose 2.90% or 11.9 points to trade at 422.9 at the close. Meanwhile, Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC) added 0.77% or 2.7 points to end at 351.8 and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OSLO:RCLo) was up 0.65% or 4.5 points to 694.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT), which fell 4.80% or 1.80 points to trade at 35.70 at the close. Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR) declined 4.06% or 2.20 points to end at 52.05 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OSLO:TGS) was down 3.69% or 6.5 points to 169.5.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 114 to 63 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC) rose to all time highs; rising 0.77% or 2.7 to 351.8.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.65% or 0.84 to $50.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.90% or 0.52 to hit $56.52 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.06% or 11.70 to trade at $1091.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.29% to 8.9000, while USD/NOK rose 0.83% to 8.1840.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 97.90.
