Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, S&P Lima Juniors and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 2.36% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.130 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 1.72% or 0.010 points to end at 0.590 and Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) was up 1.63% or 0.090 points to 5.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 6.52% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.860 in late trade. Minera Irl (LM:IRL) unchanged 2.61% or 0.00 points to end at 0.11 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) shed 2.03% or 0.73 points to 35.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.10% or 0.59 to $52.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $55.57 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.12% or 14.30 to trade at $1288.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2545, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.4497.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 100.06.
