Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining, Food & Beverages and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which rose 5.70% or 1.50 points to trade at 27.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Alicorp (LM:ALI) added 3.99% or 0.190 points to end at 4.950 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 3.20% or 0.011 points to 0.355 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sider (LM:SID), which fell 7.69% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.120 at the close. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 5.66% or 0.009 points to end at 0.150 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) was down 2.94% or 0.005 points to 0.165.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 13 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sider (LM:SID) fell to all time lows; falling 7.69% or 0.010 to 0.120.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.49% or 1.54 to $45.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.33% or 1.11 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.70% or 7.70 to trade at $1109.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.04% to 3.2200, while EUR/PEN rose 0.21% to 3.6026.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 95.53.
