Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Banking & Financials and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 2.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which rose 5.43% or 0.510 points to trade at 9.910 at the close. DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) added 5.00% or 0.580 points to end at 12.180 and Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) was up 4.56% or 3.400 points to 78.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PLDT Inc (PS:TEL), which lost 2.82% or 49.00 points to trade at 1691.00 in late trade. San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) declined 2.38% or 2.000 points to end at 82.000 and Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM) shed 1.92% or 0.100 points to 5.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 75 and 54 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.35 to $1323.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.23% or 0.10 to hit $43.48 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.03 to trade at $45.88 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.78% to 7.1588, while USD/PHP rose 0.63% to 47.760.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.45.
