Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Services and Holding Firms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 2.24%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 5.77% or 0.380 points to trade at 6.990 at the close. Meanwhile, Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI) added 5.53% or 0.260 points to end at 4.980 and Universal Robi (PS:URC) was up 5.25% or 9.600 points to 192.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petron (PS:PCOR), which fell 1.28% or 0.100 points to trade at 7.620 at the close. Intl Container (PS:ICT) declined 0.74% or 0.700 points to end at 94.000 and Aboitiz Power (PS:AP) was down 0.35% or 0.15 points to 42.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 133 to 50 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1125.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.54% or 1.36 to hit $39.97 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.11% or 1.34 to trade at $44.48 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.29% to 7.2918, while USD/PHP rose 0.22% to 46.715.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.38.
