Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Banking and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.67% to hit a new all time low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.32% or 1.93 points to trade at 85.00 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) added 2.08% or 1.59 points to end at 78.00 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.25% or 0.08 points to 6.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which fell 7.03% or 29.77 points to trade at 393.40 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 4.95% or 0.63 points to end at 12.10 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was down 1.51% or 0.11 points to 7.18.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 322 to 241 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.03% or 29.77 to 393.40.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.91% or 0.85 to $45.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.06% or 0.97 to hit $48.31 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1131.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.04% to 4.2448, while USD/PLN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7734.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 96.03.
