Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.07% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1480 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.58% or 0.0500 points to end at 3.2160 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.37% or 0.1600 points to 11.8200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 7.92% or 0.0019 points to trade at 0.0221 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.81% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.5980 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) shed 1.07% or 0.006 points to 0.554.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 25 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 1.11% or 0.55 to $50.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.36% or 0.66 to hit $49.28 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.25% or 3.10 to trade at $1246.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1360, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.7862.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 93.98.
