Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 4.45% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.5870 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 2.11% or 0.0710 points to end at 3.4310 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 1.67% or 0.0280 points to 1.7000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 0.86% or 0.0640 points to trade at 7.3440 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 0.66% or 0.0200 points to end at 3.0200 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.28% or 0.020 points to 7.180.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 30 to 16 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $44.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.02% or 0.44 to hit $42.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1327.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.0989, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.17.
