Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 3.59% or 0.1110 points to trade at 3.2000 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 3.35% or 0.0007 points to end at 0.0216 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 3.01% or 0.0160 points to 0.5470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.63% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.1480 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.61% or 0.045 points to end at 7.280 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 0.60% or 0.0850 points to 14.2000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 32 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 4.50% or 2.08 to $48.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 4.33% or 1.94 to hit $46.70 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.72% or 23.35 to trade at $1333.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1083, while EUR/GBP fell 1.96% to 0.8347.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.37.
