Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 6.96% or 0.1100 points to trade at 1.6900 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 3.32% or 0.0910 points to end at 2.8310 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 3.13% or 0.0980 points to 3.2290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 3.49% or 0.0011 points to trade at 0.0304 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 2.40% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1220 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.53% or 0.037 points to 7.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.70% or 0.34 to $48.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.12% or 0.54 to hit $48.62 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.75% or 21.90 to trade at $1229.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.1147, while EUR/GBP fell 1.65% to 0.7619.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 95.56.
