Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.26% or 0.0990 points to trade at 1.9800 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 3.81% or 0.0250 points to end at 0.6820 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.51% or 0.2200 points to 14.7550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.09% or 0.0008 points to trade at 0.0374 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.38% or 0.1100 points to end at 7.8390 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 0.83% or 0.0950 points to 11.4100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 19 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 2.12% or 0.93 to $42.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.72% or 1.13 to hit $40.37 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.74% or 9.10 to trade at $1235.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7945.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.53.
